Kane, W. John
Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc.

As a director of sales at Hitachi Communication Technologies America Inc., Kane has responsibility for PON Systems, RFoG, home networking and transport equipment. He markets these products to diverse service providers, including telephone companies, utilities and municipalities.

John has over 30 years experience in the telecom industry, joining Northern Telecom in Boston after graduating from Northeastern University. From a customer service background he became a sales director to Verizon and was instrumental in its deployment of CL 4/ CL 5 and STP Digital Switching Systems.

Focusing on the non-Bell marketplace, John was with Alcatel Lucent for over 10 years, concentrating on its outside plant technologies including DLC’s DSLAM's and GPON products. He also has significant startup experience with Calient Networks and Quantum Bridge Inc.

Most recently, Kane has worked with several SPs to define and design approaches to provide third-party applications at the residence.

John and his wife, Karen, live in Groton, Mass., where they host one of the largest charity Wiffle ball tournaments in the United States.
