John McHugh has over 45 years in the telecommunications field starting with the United States Air Force communications service from 1965-1969 to his current position as Technical Director for the Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies (OPASTCO).Throughout his career John has held management positions in Engineering and Operations with both large and small telecommunications companies. John joined the OPASTCO staff in April of 1998 and is OPASTCO’s staff liaison to the organizations Technical Committee which among other tasks evaluates new technology. His primary function at OPASTCO is to assist the staff to determine any technical concerns for the OPASTCO membership with pending Federal legislation or FCC rulemakings. John also works closely with several other OPASTCO committees. John represents the organization as a voting member on the North American Numbering Council (NANC). He also is a member of the National Coordination Center for Communications(NCC) an entity of the Department of Homeland Security and is a member of the FCC’s Technical Advisory Council (TAC).  

John resides and works in Palm Coast, FL.
